Abstract
In the future, regeneration of hydrogen and methanol using solar light, are appealing systems in the point of the limitation of fossil fuel energy sources in earth and the environmental problems arising from combustion of oil and gas. A promising approach is to mimic natural photosynthesis in green plants, which use electrons from water oxidation to reduce carbon dioxide into “fuel”. In this paper, brief introductions to photosynthesis and water oxidation in photosystem II are presented, in addition to the possible applications of modeling catalyst of oxygen evolving center in plants.
