Abstract
Anode-supported fuel cells based on proton conducting Yb-doped BaZrO3 were fabricated by dry pressing and sintering at 1300 degrees C. The proton conducting Yb-doped BaZrO3 with the addition of ZnO sintering aid was used as electrolyte and the cermet composed of Ni and Ba(Zr0.84Yb0.15Cu0.01)O3-delta was used for the porous anode substrate. The thickness of the electrolyte layer was about 60 mu m and the maximum power density of the fuel cells was 51 mW/cm(2) at 600 degrees C.
