Abstract
An approach is presented to model the air bearing surface of regularly textured disks. For accurate presentation of the surface texture and numerical calculation, a highly fine grid system is used to apply Fourier series. The results show that this direct approach can handle the effect in presence of nano-scaled bumps on the disk as the calculation grid gets denser. The present model is applicable to future laser textured disk design due to its easy application to any shape.
