dc.description.abstractThe effects of the cold rolling condition and surface segregation of sulfur on the magnetic induction of thin-gauged 3 % Si-iron alloy strips have been investigated. During final annealing, segregated sulfur was observed on the strip surface only within the final annealing time range until 1.2 ks. Because texture development is controlled by surface segregation and grain-growth kinetics, a cold rolling condition less severe than a critical condition should be chosen so that {110}[001] Goss grains can survive up to 1.2 ks and grow to form a complete {110}[001] Goss texture. A magnetic induction higher than 1.90 T Was obtained when a final reduction ratio of 60 % was chosen.-
