Abstract
Electrochemical properties were done using half cells with the fullerene coated silicon thick film as a working electrode and lithium metal as a counter electrode and 1 M LIPF6 dissolved in EC-PC-DMC (1:1:1 v/v) as the electrolyte. The half cell properties were investigated by charge-discharge tests with various C rates (0.2 C, 0.4 C, 0.6 C and 1 C).The half cells were also tested for cyclic voltammetry (CV) measurements with scan rate of 5 mVs- 1 and electrochemical impedance spectroscopy (EIS) using Zahner IM 6 with amplitude of 5 mV and frequency range between 0.01 Hz and 106 Hz. Recent results regarding the rate capability and cycling performance of fullerene coated silicon thick film will be presented. Investigations on the alloying/dealloying reaction and charge transfer resistance at the electrode/electrolyte interface will also be discussed related to the cycling behavior. All of the results will be compared with previous work that focusing on the silicon thin film.
