- Freon is widely used as refrigerants, blowing & cleaning agents due to their beneficial properties such as stability, nontoxicity, and nonflammability Among Freon, CHClF2 (HCFC-22) is used as refrigerant in air conditioners. However, HCFCs is found to destroy the ozone layer and to enhance the global warming effect. Now it has been agreed that HCFCs shoud phase-out until 2030. Therefore, it is essential to find an effective way to recycle CHClF2 to more environmental friendly, low or null ODP (ozone depletion potential) and low GWP (global warming potential) products
Hydrodechlorination of CHClF2 with hydrogen has been studied in the gas phase at 300℃ and reaction time of 8hr and over supported Pd/Pt/Ni catalysts. Starting the gasphase reactions, methane is the primary product of Hydroconvrsion of HCFC-22. whereas HFC-32 is increase after 1hr.
In this study, we report hydroconversion and selectivity by compare the catalyst precursor and support.
