Abstract
Star-like Shaped Dendrimer system in aqueous solution has applied for remediation agents of contaminated water. In this study, Star-like Shaped Dendrimer was synthesized and applied to remove BTEX contaminants in wastewater. Star-like Shaped Dendrimer was formed micelle after being charged into aqueous solution immediately and its LCST was investigated 32℃. The removal efficiency of BTEX by Star-like Shaped Dendrimer was observed 64, 68, 79, and 92% for ethylbenzene, xylene, benzene, and toluene respectively. Thermo- responsive Star-like Shaped Dendrimer made it trapping BTEX contaminants to aggregate and this induced that recovery and separation of Star-like Shaped Dendrimer after usage was available eventually. Compared to traditional treatment method, it is found that synthesized Star-like Shaped Dendrimer with core-shell structure for BTEX treatment has many advantages that it traps and treats organic toxicants selectively and safely without secondary pollution and it is also renewable by simple and easy control.
