- In this paper, a new selective visual attention model
with depth information for 3D display application is proposed.
The proposed model is new in that it utilizes depth information
for the purpose of detecting ROI(region of interest), and is also
new in that we used human test with 3D image shown by 3D
display device to verify the model. Typical feature integration
model which uses color, intensity, orientation, form, motion as a
feature is expanded to incorporate depth stimulus in our
suggested model. Suggested model is able to respond to depth
stimulus by employing disparity map as one of spatial visual
features to form a set of topographic feature maps in our
approach. The analysis of disparity map and incorporation of the
result are distinct from some of the previous studies on spatial
feature integration. Experiment result shows that the proposed
model can describe the salient regions with higher accuracy than
the previous approaches do.
