Abstract
We report on the preparation of thickness-controllable graphite oxide (e-GO) films that are self-assembled at the air/liquid interface via the evaporation of GO solution prepared by hummers` method. By adjusting the variables such as concentration of the GO solution and evaporation temperature, relative thickness and following transparency of the GO films were controlled and the films with much of transmittance in the visible region could be successfully fabricated. The resulting GO films are an insulator and after treatment of reducing agents such as sodium borohydride and hydrazine, they recovered the electrically conducting properties of graphenes. The prepared GO and graphene films were characterized by various analytical tools including X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy (XPS) and Raman spectrometer to confirm the successful preparation of graphene films with reasonable conductivity.
