- Herein, we investigated reduction ability of p-toluenesulfonylhydrazide from grapheme oxide to graphene under microwave condition. p-Toluenesulfonylhydrazide having a mild reduction ability and less toxic property used as an alternative for the hydrazine or dimethylhydrazine reagent. In addition, we focused on reducing the grapheme oxide under microwave irradiation that has many advantages such as clean, self-generated pressure inside the reaction vessel, and short-reaction time, resulting in more efficient reduction of grapheme oxide than simple thermal treated reduction of it. In order to verify the graphene made by novel method, we measured the resulted graphene sheets by means of atomic force microscopy (AFM), Raman spectroscopy, and x-ray photoelectron spectroscopy (XPS) and so on. This novel approach will inspire many researchers related to carbon-based optoelectronic devices with graphene based electrode and semiconducting materials and related to more efficient and facile production from graphene oxide to reduced graphene sheets.
