Abstract
Conventional Method Phosphorylated Cellulose (PC) are basically prepared on the esterification of cellulose and the acids of phosphorous. The studies on the synthesis of PC are experienced by verifying types of phosphorous acids and/or adding some organic solvents and urea compounds. However, most of synthesized PC has low degree of substitution and is water insoluble product. Furthermore, the reactants are environmentally-unfriendly chemicals. New method Phosphorylated Cellulose is synthesized by phosphorylation of cellulose and ionic liquid. We produced water soluble PCs with controllable degree of substitution at simple reaction condition. The well-known nontoxic ionic liquid was regenerated and reused after the reaction in a green process. The water solubility of PCs opens many potential applications in bio-chemical field.
