Abstract
We have fabricated carbon nanotube (CNT) based sensors for gas sensing capabilities, and designed a circuit composed of main control unit (MCU), power supplies, current meters, level-shift module, and relays to make portable nA-resolution signal amplification and processing circuits (SAPC) for CNT sensors. SAPC can be driven by 5 V batteries because of its low power consumption and is equipped with LCD monitor for real-time measurements. In addition the electrical properties (I-V curve) of the CNT in the sensor is also available in real-time analysis, since the voltage applied to the CNT sensors can be changed from 0.1 to 1 V. The current change of the CNT sensor for air and methanol vapor was measured to be 4 nA, and successful detection was achieved. Also the results coincided well with commercially available highresolution instruments.
