Abstract
This paper presents the design and implementation of a real-time human body motion capture system using magnetic and inertial sensor modules. Wireless attachments of sensor modules to body segments enable to independently determine the absolute orientation of each body segment. To construct geometrically intuitive formulations for human body configurations we build a kinematic tree model in a Lie group setting. Experimental results for golf swing motion applications show validity and feasibility of our motion capture system from a practical viewpoint.
