Abstract
In this research, we report a simple and scalable preparation method of high conductive polymer nanocomposite by thermochemical reduction method. Polyimides (PI) are important high performance materials with excellent thermal behavior and mechanical properties, good chemical resistance. It was found that the electrical properties of PI films were improved by in-situ thermal preparation of PI nanocomposites with functionalized graphene sheets. The surface functionalization of graphene was carried out with aryl diazonium salt including 4- iodoaniline to form I-Ph-GO. The I-Ph-GO/PAA composite was prepared by solution mixing method and then thermally treated. The electrical conductivities of R-I-Ph-GO/PI and RGO/ PI composite films containing 10 wt% of reduced graphene oxide in polymer matrix were 5.1x10-1 S/m and 3.8x10-2 S/m, respectively. Consequentially, the R-I-Ph-GO/PI composite showed more than ten times higher conductivity compared to the R-GO/PI composite. Furthermore, the R-I-Ph-GO/PI composite led to a ten orders of magnitude higher the electrical conductivity compared to pure PI.
