dc.description.abstractIn this study, four-stage propane refrigerant compressor of centrifugal type for LNG Plant was aerodynamically designed at each design point of the corresponding compressor stages using a commercial code. One-dimensional aerodynamic design output and three-dimensional shape of the impeller flow passage were estimated through the three-dimensional flow analysis. Flow characteristics of the impeller and the vaneless diffuser passages of each stage of the compressors will be discussed in details in terms of velocity fields, pressure and entropy distributions of the flow passages including the flow effects by tip clearance flow. Especially, more details on flow analysis for the 4th-stage compressor will be also considered because of higher rotating speed and inlet total pressure that those of other compressor stages.-
