Abstract
In thisreport,non-aggregatedanataseTiO2 nanoparticlesweresynthesizedbymildsolvothermal process in1-butanol.Byvaryingsolvothermalreactiontemperatureandtime,TiO2 particle sizewas controlledfrom5.3to9.0nm,whilemaintainingpureanatasephaseandopticalclearanceinthe concentrateddispersion(5wt%).SpincoatingofTiO2 dispersionsresultedintransparentthinfilmswith thicknesscontrollability,anditwasconfirmedthatthemildsolvothermalreactionsignificantly increasedtherefractiveindexofthethinfilmswithoutpost-thermaltreatment.Inadditiontothe fabricationoflow-temperatureprocessedthinfilms,theinverseopalTiO2 films werealsofabricatedby the colloidaltemplatingmethodfollowedbythermalcalcinationtorevealtheimprovedvolume shrinkageofthemesoporousTiO2 films.
