dc.description.abstractThe purpose of this paper is to examine the resource that the city of Seoul is devoting to “green infrastructure”and analyze the Gangdong-Gu experience with alternative urban stormwater management techniques. The unit type infiltration-storage system has been a leader in the implementation of green infrastructure approaches to urban stormwater management. To achieve the effective urban stormwater management, this paper presents the experimental performance in the field. The infiltration rate of this system was evaluated as 62 % of total storage (40 tons) for 6 days after rainfall-runoff. For reducing non-point source, the removal rates were evaluated as 95 % TSS and 95% Turbidity. Also, the removal rates of heavy metals were 79% Pb, 68% Cu, 60% Zn, and 50% Cd, respectively. As a result, this paper provide the effective technology to green stormwater approaches and gives the economic methodology used to guide decisions about green infrastructure using.-
