Abstract
We propose a method for place classification using a range scan. The classification problem is solved with the 2DPCA approach using a 2D histogram of pairwise angular distance. The 2D histogram is constructed from range scans obtained at each training place. Validations with real experiments, as well as a comparison with another method, which show that the proposed method is robust to scan noises, are presented.
