Abstract
Supercapacitors which possess superior properties of high power density, long cyclic life, fast charge and discharge rates, and high reliability have been received considerable attention as the energy storage substance in a wide range of fields including transportation, electronics, and renewable energy. Recently, as increasing interest of what is in general referred to as “flexible and printed electronic devices”, printed thin-film supercapacitor is of promising as the door the next generation of energy storage beyond conventional batteries. Here, we will introduce a facile and highly efficient pulse irradiation process to prepare electrode materials with specific nanostructures for thin-film supercapacitors. We have achieved to control the morphology and nanostructure of nanocarbon/metal oxide hybrids within only a few second via pulse management, in which the obtained electrodes exhibits typical pseudo-capacitive behavior with high capacitance and long cyclic stability. This process is highly beneficial to millisecond-scaled high-speed, large-area, and ambient production of thin-film supercapacitors.
