- Blueberry (Vaccinium corymbosum L.), Raspberry (Rubus idaeus L.) and Blackberry (Rubus sp.) were widely
cultivated in the world. And they were processed by functional health food, beverages, yogurts, and jam. They have
essential dietary minerals (manganese, vitamin C, vitamin K and dietary fiber), low fat, and phenolic compounds
such as flavonoids, tannins, stilbenoids, phenolic acids and lignans. Phenolic compounds have beneficial function as
antioxidant, antimutagenic, antiinflammatory, anticancer, antimicrobial activity on human. Polyphenols, which were
included as phenolic compounds have free radical scavenging activity and much better antioxidative activity than
vitamin C, E. However, berries were studied on almost horticulture and nutrition in Korea. Because their growing
condition was different to domestic cultural environment.
Mass profiler professional (MPP) software is a powerful visualization and analysis solution designed for use with
mass spectrometry (MS) data in metabolomics. As advanced statistical analysis and visualization tools, it provides
integrated identification of compounds and integrated pathway analysis for metabolomic studies.
In this study, we identified components of blueberry, raspberry and blackberry using gas chromatography-mass
spectrometer (GC-MS) and mass profiler professional (MPP).
