- • Microalgae are unicellular photosynthetic microorganisms that are able to absorb solar
energy to digest water and CO2, and then emission O2 in atmosphere (photoautotrophic).
• Microalgae can accumulate lipids due to excess photosynthesis and some strain can accumulate high contents of lipids under growth condition and environmental stress.
