- Cyclic citrullinated peptide (CCP) has been found to be elevated in serum of Rheumatoid Arthritis (RA) patients . We found that the CCP showed 1.5 fold higher concentrations in serum of RA patients than those of control group. To study altered expression of CCP in serum of RA patients compared to healthy controls, a CE-MS method was developed and the analysis conditions were optimized. The detected ions by LCQ and MS/MS fragmentation patterns were measured and compared with those obtained by LTQ. The kind of buffer, salt concentration, and CE separation conditions were tested. The developed method will be applied to the detection of altered expression of CCP in synovial fluids of RA patients and compared to healthy controls.
