Abstract
Borazine oligomer (B3N3H4)x was synthesized by the thermally reaction of borazine(B3N3H6) and used as a liquid precursor for white graphene synthesis by thermal annealing procedures. The large area and high crystalline white graphene films were synthesized with borazine oligomer (B3N3H4)x coated on a electrochemical polished metal foils at 1000℃ for 60 min under argon atmosphere. The white garphene films were characterized by Fourier transform infrared (FT-IR) spectroscopy, X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy (XPS), X-ray diffraction (XRD), Transmission electron microscope (TEM) and Raman spectroscopy. TEM data indicated that the synthesized white graphene had one or few layers with high crystalline structures. Raman spectra, FT-IR spectra and XRD data revealed that white graphene films were formed by phase conversion reactions through the borazine oligomer cross-linking. XPS data characterized the chemical bonding of white graphene structure and the stoichiometric B/N ratio closed to 1. EELS spectrum represnted the hexagonal bonding of sp2 hybridization. Also, hydrogen barrier property of the synthesized white graphene was demonstrated as a potential application.
