Abstract
The functionalized CNTs were prepared using diazonium salt reaction to enhance dispersion of CNTs in DMSO.  The most effective CNTs for developing high performance CFs were thin-walled CNTs (4~6 nm).  The tensile strength and modulus of I-Ph-CNT reinforced CFs (0.2/99.8 w/w) were 4.0 GPa and 400 GPa, respectively.
