- Polyacrylonitrile (PAN) and PAN-Si nanoparticles were successfully synthesized by ultrasonic dispersion polymerization.
The size of particle was decreased by ultrasonication of the PAN and PAN-Si nanoparticles which was confirmed by Particle size Analyzer.
XRD and FTIR spectra confirmed the formation of PAN nanoparticles and presence of Si in PAN nanoparticles. The characteristic functional groups (including C≡N, C=O, CH2) present in the FTIR spectra of PAN polymer indicated copolymerization reaction of AN and IA.
