<dcvalue element="description" qualifier="abstract">The&#x20;corrosion&#x20;resistance&#x20;of&#x20;VCrCoNi&#x20;medium-entropy&#x20;alloys&#x20;in&#x20;a&#x20;0.5&#x20;M&#x20;H2SO4&#x20;solution&#x20;was&#x20;investigated&#x20;by&#x20;tailoring&#x20;V&#x20;and&#x20;Cr&#x20;compositions&#x20;while&#x20;minimizing&#x20;microstructural&#x20;differences.&#x20;The&#x20;elemental&#x20;effects&#x20;were&#x20;dis-cussed&#x20;regarding&#x20;the&#x20;formation&#x20;of&#x20;the&#x20;passive&#x20;film&#x20;and&#x20;its&#x20;subsequent&#x20;impact&#x20;on&#x20;corrosion&#x20;resistance.&#x20;The&#x20;results&#x20;revealed&#x20;that&#x20;an&#x20;increase&#x20;in&#x20;the&#x20;Cr&#x2F;V&#x20;ratio&#x20;enhances&#x20;the&#x20;corrosion&#x20;resistance&#x20;by&#x20;forming&#x20;a&#x20;Cr-enriched&#x20;passive&#x20;film.&#x20;However,&#x20;the&#x20;elevated&#x20;ratio&#x20;negatively&#x20;affects&#x20;the&#x20;mechanical&#x20;strength,&#x20;wherein&#x20;V&#x20;plays&#x20;a&#x20;crucial&#x20;role.&#x20;The&#x20;optimal&#x20;balance&#x20;between&#x20;mechanical&#x20;strength&#x20;and&#x20;corrosion&#x20;resistance&#x20;was&#x20;discussed&#x20;based&#x20;on&#x20;electrochemical&#x20;measurements&#x20;and&#x20;immersion&#x20;test&#x20;results.</dcvalue>
