<dcvalue element="description" qualifier="abstract">Neural&#x20;representation&#x20;is&#x20;briefly&#x20;reviewed&#x20;and&#x20;its&#x20;essential&#x20;features,&#x20;which&#x20;are&#x20;required&#x20;to&#x20;be&#x20;implemented&#x20;in&#x20;artificial&#x20;neural&#x20;networks,&#x20;are&#x20;addressed.&#x20;They&#x20;are&#x20;such&#x20;as&#x20;population&#x20;representation&#x20;and&#x20;correlation&#x20;between&#x20;neighboring&#x20;neurons.&#x20;These&#x20;aspects&#x20;play&#x20;an&#x20;important&#x20;role&#x20;in&#x20;conveying&#x20;information,&#x20;compensating&#x20;the&#x20;unreliability&#x20;of&#x20;individual&#x20;neuron.</dcvalue>
