<dcvalue element="description" qualifier="abstract">Possible&#x20;solutions&#x20;to&#x20;the&#x20;microstructural&#x20;instability&#x20;of&#x20;single&#x20;phase&#x20;lanthanum&#x20;strontium&#x20;cobaltite&#x20;thin&#x20;film&#x20;cathode&#x20;fabricated&#x20;by&#x20;pulsed&#x20;laser&#x20;deposition&#x20;are&#x20;presented.&#x20;The&#x20;effect&#x20;of&#x20;the&#x20;deposition&#x20;parameter&#x20;variation&#x20;and&#x20;the&#x20;deposition&#x20;materials&#x20;change&#x20;from&#x20;a&#x20;single&#x20;phase&#x20;to&#x20;a&#x20;composite&#x20;are&#x20;discussed.&#x20;By&#x20;introducing&#x20;the&#x20;electrolyte-cathode&#x20;composite&#x20;concept&#x20;to&#x20;the&#x20;thin&#x20;film&#x20;deposition&#x20;and&#x20;employing&#x20;a&#x20;gradient&#x20;cathode&#x20;structure,&#x20;much&#x20;improved&#x20;stability&#x20;of&#x20;the&#x20;high-temperature&#x20;electrochemical&#x20;performance&#x20;and&#x20;the&#x20;microstructure&#x20;of&#x20;the&#x20;thin&#x20;film&#x20;cathode&#x20;could&#x20;be&#x20;obtained.</dcvalue>
