<dcvalue element="description" qualifier="abstract">Biocompatible&#x20;nanocomposite&#x20;of&#x20;iron&#x20;oxide&#x20;with&#x20;the&#x20;bigger&#x20;core&#x20;size&#x20;is&#x20;expected&#x20;to&#x20;give&#x20;the&#x20;better&#x20;MRI&#x20;contrast.&#x20;Water-dispersible&#x20;superparamagnetic&#x20;iron&#x20;oxide&#x20;nanoparticles&#x20;(SPION-MPA)&#x20;were&#x20;prepared&#x20;by&#x20;covalent&#x20;conjugation&#x20;of&#x20;SPION&#x20;(7.5&#x20;nm)&#x20;and&#x20;mercaptopropionic&#x20;acid&#x20;(MPA)&#x20;and&#x20;then,&#x20;transformed&#x20;to&#x20;biocompatible&#x20;composite&#x20;SPION-MPA-Dextran&#x20;by&#x20;physical&#x20;adsorption&#x20;of&#x20;Dextran.&#x20;Analysis&#x20;of&#x20;the&#x20;composite&#x20;is&#x20;presented&#x20;with&#x20;TEM,&#x20;SENT,&#x20;DLS,&#x20;and&#x20;FT-IR&#x20;data.</dcvalue>
