<dcvalue element="description" qualifier="abstract">Luminescent&#x20;materials&#x20;composed&#x20;of&#x20;Sr3-3(m+n)&#x2F;2BimEumAlO4F&#x20;(m=0.001-0.05,&#x20;n=0-0.1)&#x20;were&#x20;prepared&#x20;by&#x20;the&#x20;solid-state&#x20;reaction&#x20;method.&#x20;The&#x20;excitation&#x20;and&#x20;emission&#x20;spectra&#x20;of&#x20;Sr3-3m&#x2F;2BimAlO4F&#x20;(m=0.001-0.05)&#x20;were&#x20;investigated&#x20;using&#x20;photoluminescence&#x20;spectroscopy;&#x20;broad-band&#x20;emission&#x20;peaks&#x20;owing&#x20;to&#x20;the&#x20;P-3(1)-&gt;&#x20;S-1(0)&#x20;transitions&#x20;of&#x20;the&#x20;Bi3+&#x20;activator&#x20;were&#x20;observed&#x20;centered&#x20;near&#x20;427&#x20;nm.&#x20;Critical&#x20;emission&#x20;quenching,&#x20;as&#x20;a&#x20;function&#x20;of&#x20;Bi3+&#x20;content&#x20;in&#x20;Sr3-3m&#x2F;2BimAlO4F,&#x20;was&#x20;observed&#x20;at&#x20;relatively&#x20;low&#x20;concentrations&#x20;of&#x20;the&#x20;activator.&#x20;The&#x20;quantum&#x20;efficiency&#x20;of&#x20;Sr2.985Bi0.01AlO4F&#x20;in&#x20;comparison&#x20;with&#x20;sodium&#x20;salicylate&#x20;was&#x20;explored.&#x20;When&#x20;Sr2+&#x20;ions&#x20;in&#x20;the&#x20;oxyfluoride&#x20;host&#x20;were&#x20;replaced&#x20;by&#x20;Bi3+&#x20;and&#x20;Eu3+&#x20;ions,&#x20;the&#x20;effective&#x20;s(2)-sp&#x20;and&#x20;f-f&#x20;transitions&#x20;of&#x20;the&#x20;Bi3+&#x20;and&#x20;Eu3+&#x20;ions,&#x20;respectively,&#x20;were&#x20;simultaneously&#x20;observed.&#x20;The&#x20;diverse&#x20;excitation&#x20;and&#x20;emission&#x20;photoluminescence&#x20;spectra&#x20;and&#x20;color&#x20;CIE&#x20;coordinates,&#x20;as&#x20;well&#x20;as&#x20;the&#x20;blue&#x20;to&#x20;orange-red&#x20;emission,&#x20;obtained&#x20;using&#x20;Sr3-3(m+n)&#x2F;2BimEunAlO4F&#x20;(m=0-0.05,&#x20;n=0-0.1)&#x20;phosphors&#x20;are&#x20;also&#x20;discussed.&#x20;(C)&#x20;2015&#x20;Elsevier&#x20;B.V.&#x20;All&#x20;rights&#x20;reserved.</dcvalue>
