<dcvalue element="description" qualifier="abstract">An&#x20;experimental&#x20;study&#x20;has&#x20;been&#x20;implemented&#x20;to&#x20;investigate&#x20;the&#x20;effect&#x20;of&#x20;oscillatory&#x20;flow&#x20;on&#x20;longitudinal&#x20;heat&#x20;spreading&#x20;in&#x20;a&#x20;thin&#x20;rectangular&#x20;heat&#x20;spreader.&#x20;The&#x20;impetus&#x20;of&#x20;the&#x20;present&#x20;study&#x20;is&#x20;to&#x20;enhance&#x20;the&#x20;heat&#x20;dispersion&#x20;in&#x20;a&#x20;thin&#x20;rectangular&#x20;heat&#x20;spreader&#x20;for&#x20;modern&#x20;flat&#x20;panel&#x20;display&#x20;devices.&#x20;The&#x20;experimental&#x20;results&#x20;show&#x20;that&#x20;the&#x20;oscillatory&#x20;flow&#x20;yields&#x20;the&#x20;dispersion&#x20;enhancement&#x20;and&#x20;the&#x20;temperature&#x20;gradient&#x20;within&#x20;a&#x20;rectangular&#x20;heat&#x20;spreader&#x20;is&#x20;decreased&#x20;significantly.&#x20;The&#x20;flow&#x20;oscillation&#x20;shows&#x20;the&#x20;decrease&#x20;of&#x20;the&#x20;temperature&#x20;difference&#x20;between&#x20;hot&#x20;spot&#x20;and&#x20;cold&#x20;region&#x20;to&#x20;38.9%&#x20;in&#x20;vertical&#x20;installation&#x20;and&#x20;47.5%&#x20;in&#x20;horizontal&#x20;installation.&#x20;The&#x20;experimental&#x20;correlations&#x20;on&#x20;the&#x20;heat&#x20;dispersion&#x20;enhancement&#x20;for&#x20;the&#x20;installation&#x20;directions&#x20;are&#x20;proposed&#x20;as&#x20;a&#x20;function&#x20;of&#x20;the&#x20;tidal&#x20;displacement&#x20;and&#x20;the&#x20;imposing&#x20;frequency&#x20;of&#x20;the&#x20;flow&#x20;oscillation.</dcvalue>
