<dcvalue element="description" qualifier="abstract">This&#x20;paper&#x20;assesses&#x20;the&#x20;potential&#x20;of&#x20;magnetically&#x20;modified&#x20;zeolite&#x20;(MM)&#x20;for&#x20;ammonia&#x20;removal&#x20;from&#x20;aqueous&#x20;solution.&#x20;The&#x20;effects&#x20;of&#x20;relevant&#x20;parameters&#x20;such&#x20;as&#x20;contact&#x20;time,&#x20;pH&#x20;and&#x20;initial&#x20;ammonia&#x20;concentration&#x20;were&#x20;examined.&#x20;The&#x20;results&#x20;show&#x20;that&#x20;ammonium&#x20;ion&#x20;removal&#x20;by&#x20;MMZ&#x20;occurs&#x20;rapidly&#x20;within&#x20;the&#x20;first&#x20;five&#x20;minutes,&#x20;pH&#x20;has&#x20;an&#x20;effect&#x20;on&#x20;ammonium&#x20;ion&#x20;removal&#x20;efficiency,&#x20;and&#x20;the&#x20;ammonium&#x20;ion&#x20;removal&#x20;capacity&#x20;of&#x20;MMZ&#x20;increases&#x20;with&#x20;increase&#x20;in&#x20;initial&#x20;ammonium&#x20;ion&#x20;concentration.&#x20;The&#x20;Langmuir&#x20;and&#x20;Freundlich&#x20;adsorption&#x20;isotherms&#x20;were&#x20;used&#x20;to&#x20;determine&#x20;the&#x20;adsorption&#x20;characteristics.&#x20;Ammonium-laden&#x20;MMZ&#x20;seems&#x20;to&#x20;be&#x20;regenerated&#x20;completely&#x20;by&#x20;sodium&#x20;chloride&#x20;solution&#x20;at&#x20;pH&#x20;11-12.</dcvalue>
