<dcvalue element="description" qualifier="abstract">It&#x20;has&#x20;previously&#x20;been&#x20;shown&#x20;that&#x20;focused&#x20;ion&#x20;beam&#x20;irradiation&#x20;induces&#x20;a&#x20;wrinkled&#x20;skin&#x20;on&#x20;the&#x20;surface&#x20;of&#x20;polydimethylsiloxane.&#x20;Here,&#x20;it&#x20;is&#x20;demonstrated&#x20;that&#x20;the&#x20;wavelength&#x20;of&#x20;the&#x20;induced&#x20;wrinkles&#x20;and&#x20;their&#x20;morphology&#x20;can&#x20;be&#x20;effectively&#x20;selected&#x20;by&#x20;controlling&#x20;the&#x20;acceleration&#x20;voltage&#x20;and&#x20;fluence&#x20;of&#x20;the&#x20;ion&#x20;beam.&#x20;The&#x20;capabilities&#x20;of&#x20;the&#x20;technique&#x20;are&#x20;also&#x20;extended&#x20;by&#x20;adopting&#x20;the&#x20;maskless&#x20;patterning&#x20;method&#x20;of&#x20;the&#x20;focused&#x20;ion&#x20;beam&#x20;system,&#x20;which&#x20;allows&#x20;creation&#x20;of&#x20;controlled&#x20;wrinkling&#x20;patterns&#x20;on&#x20;small&#x20;surfaces&#x20;of&#x20;polymers.&#x20;(c)&#x20;2007&#x20;Acta&#x20;Materialia&#x20;Inc.&#x20;Published&#x20;by&#x20;Elsevier&#x20;Ltd.&#x20;All&#x20;rights&#x20;reserved.</dcvalue>
