<dcvalue element="description" qualifier="abstract">The&#x20;crystallization&#x20;kinetics&#x20;of&#x20;the&#x20;Cu(43)Zr(43)A(17)Ag(7)&#x20;(at.%)&#x20;amorphous&#x20;alloy&#x20;was&#x20;studied&#x20;by&#x20;means&#x20;of&#x20;differential&#x20;scanning&#x20;calorimetry&#x20;(DSC)&#x20;in&#x20;the&#x20;continuous&#x20;heating&#x20;and&#x20;isothermal&#x20;annealing&#x20;modes.&#x20;In&#x20;the&#x20;case&#x20;of&#x20;continuous&#x20;heating,&#x20;the&#x20;activation&#x20;energy&#x20;for&#x20;crystallization&#x20;corresponding&#x20;to&#x20;the&#x20;first&#x20;exothermal&#x20;peak&#x20;was&#x20;significantly&#x20;lower&#x20;than&#x20;that&#x20;of&#x20;the&#x20;second&#x20;peak.&#x20;The&#x20;isothermal&#x20;kinetic,&#x20;analyzed&#x20;using&#x20;the&#x20;John&#x20;son-Mehl-Avrami&#x20;equation,&#x20;yielded&#x20;values&#x20;of&#x20;the&#x20;Avrami&#x20;exponents&#x20;in&#x20;the&#x20;range&#x20;1.74-2.64,&#x20;which&#x20;implied&#x20;that&#x20;the&#x20;first&#x20;crystallization&#x20;was&#x20;governed&#x20;by&#x20;a&#x20;three-dimensional&#x20;diffusion-controlled&#x20;growth.&#x20;(c)&#x20;2006&#x20;Elsevier&#x20;B.V.&#x20;All&#x20;rights&#x20;reserved.</dcvalue>
