<dcvalue element="description" qualifier="abstract">Electrochemical&#x20;properties&#x20;of&#x20;LiFePO4&#x20;were&#x20;investigated&#x20;by&#x20;incorporating&#x20;conductive&#x20;carbon&#x20;from&#x20;three&#x20;different&#x20;carbon&#x20;sources&#x20;(graphite,&#x20;carbon&#x20;black,&#x20;acetylene&#x20;black).&#x20;SEM&#x20;observations&#x20;revealed&#x20;that&#x20;the&#x20;carbon-coated&#x20;LiFePO4&#x20;were&#x20;smaller&#x20;than&#x20;the&#x20;bare&#x20;LiFePO4&#x20;particles.&#x20;The&#x20;carbon-coated&#x20;LiFePO4&#x20;showed&#x20;much&#x20;better&#x20;performance&#x20;in&#x20;terms&#x20;of&#x20;the&#x20;discharge&#x20;capacity&#x20;and&#x20;cycling&#x20;stability&#x20;than&#x20;the&#x20;bare&#x20;LiFePO4.&#x20;Among&#x20;carbon-coated&#x20;LiFePO4,&#x20;the&#x20;particles&#x20;coated&#x20;with&#x20;graphite&#x20;exhibited&#x20;better&#x20;electrochemical&#x20;properties&#x20;than&#x20;others&#x20;coated&#x20;with&#x20;carbon&#x20;black&#x20;or&#x20;acetylene&#x20;black.&#x20;(c)&#x20;2006&#x20;Elsevier&#x20;Ltd.&#x20;All&#x20;rights&#x20;reserved.</dcvalue>
