<dcvalue element="description" qualifier="abstract">The&#x20;characteristics&#x20;of&#x20;photovoltaic&#x20;device&#x20;compose&#x20;of&#x20;p-type&#x20;conducting&#x20;polymer&#x20;and&#x20;n-type&#x20;organic&#x20;semiconductor&#x20;composite&#x20;films&#x20;formed&#x20;by&#x20;in&#x20;situ&#x20;electrochemical&#x20;polymerization&#x20;were&#x20;studied.&#x20;A&#x20;desirable&#x20;bicontinuous&#x20;network&#x20;structure&#x20;was&#x20;automatically&#x20;formed&#x20;when&#x20;the&#x20;electrochemical&#x20;polymerization&#x20;of&#x20;conducting&#x20;monomer&#x20;was&#x20;proceeded&#x20;within&#x20;solvent&#x20;swelled&#x20;n-type&#x20;organic&#x20;semiconductor.&#x20;Unlike&#x20;conventional&#x20;polymer&#x20;blend&#x20;technique&#x20;to&#x20;obtain&#x20;bicontinuous&#x20;network&#x20;structure&#x20;where&#x20;quite&#x20;narrow&#x20;range&#x20;of&#x20;composition&#x20;ratio&#x20;of&#x20;p-&#x20;and&#x20;n-type&#x20;could&#x20;be&#x20;obtained,&#x20;the&#x20;composition&#x20;ratio&#x20;prepared&#x20;with&#x20;in&#x20;situ&#x20;electrochemical&#x20;polymerization&#x20;method&#x20;could&#x20;be&#x20;easily&#x20;altered&#x20;by&#x20;changing&#x20;electrochemical&#x20;polymerization&#x20;time&#x20;to&#x20;provide&#x20;an&#x20;optimum&#x20;composition&#x20;ratio&#x20;for&#x20;the&#x20;best&#x20;conversion&#x20;efficiency.&#x20;Conducting&#x20;polymer&#x20;composite&#x20;film&#x20;showed&#x20;superior&#x20;photovoltaic&#x20;efficiency&#x20;than&#x20;that&#x20;of&#x20;simple&#x20;overlaid&#x20;p-n&#x20;hetero-junction&#x20;device.&#x20;(c)&#x20;2005&#x20;Elsevier&#x20;B.V.&#x20;All&#x20;rights&#x20;reserved.</dcvalue>
