<dcvalue element="description" qualifier="abstract">White-light-emitting&#x20;Si&#x20;nanoparticles&#x20;were&#x20;prepared&#x20;from&#x20;the&#x20;sodium&#x20;silicide&#x20;(NaSi)&#x20;precursor.&#x20;The&#x20;photoluminescence&#x20;of&#x20;colloidal&#x20;Si&#x20;nanoparticles&#x20;has&#x20;been&#x20;fitted&#x20;by&#x20;effective&#x20;mass&#x20;approximation&#x20;(EMA).&#x20;We&#x20;analyzed&#x20;the&#x20;correlation&#x20;between&#x20;experimental&#x20;photoluminescence&#x20;and&#x20;simulated&#x20;fitting&#x20;curves.&#x20;Both&#x20;the&#x20;mean&#x20;diameter&#x20;and&#x20;the&#x20;size&#x20;dispersion&#x20;of&#x20;the&#x20;white-light-emitting&#x20;Si&#x20;nanoparticles&#x20;were&#x20;estimated.</dcvalue>
