<dcvalue element="description" qualifier="abstract">The&#x20;effects&#x20;of&#x20;deformation&#x20;history&#x20;on&#x20;the&#x20;texture&#x20;evolution&#x20;in&#x20;an&#x20;aluminum&#x20;alloy&#x20;during&#x20;two&#x20;different&#x20;shear&#x20;deforming&#x20;processes,&#x20;i.e.,&#x20;equal&#x20;channel&#x20;angular&#x20;pressing&#x20;(ECAP)&#x20;and&#x20;dissimilar&#x20;channel&#x20;angular&#x20;pressing&#x20;(DCAP)&#x20;were&#x20;comparatively&#x20;investigated.&#x20;Simulation&#x20;based&#x20;on&#x20;the&#x20;Taylor&#x20;model&#x20;showed&#x20;that&#x20;the&#x20;texture&#x20;evolution&#x20;during&#x20;DCAP&#x20;was&#x20;very&#x20;similar&#x20;to&#x20;that&#x20;of&#x20;ECAP&#x20;up&#x20;to&#x20;the&#x20;region,&#x20;a&#x20;so-called&#x20;&amp;apos;zero&#x20;dilatation&#x20;line&amp;apos;.&#x20;Beyond&#x20;this&#x20;line,&#x20;the&#x20;texture&#x20;continued&#x20;to&#x20;evolve&#x20;by&#x20;rotating&#x20;about&#x20;the&#x20;transverse&#x20;direction&#x20;(TD)&#x20;by&#x20;10-15&#x20;degrees&#x20;during&#x20;ECAP.&#x20;whereas&#x20;the&#x20;texture&#x20;hardly&#x20;evolved&#x20;during&#x20;DCAP.&#x20;These&#x20;analytical&#x20;observations&#x20;were&#x20;verified&#x20;experimentally.</dcvalue>
