<dcvalue element="description" qualifier="abstract">Experiments&#x20;were&#x20;conducted&#x20;on&#x20;an&#x20;aluminum&#x20;alloy&#x20;having&#x20;different&#x20;initial&#x20;textures&#x20;to&#x20;investigate&#x20;the&#x20;effect&#x20;of&#x20;initial&#x20;texture&#x20;on&#x20;the&#x20;texture&#x20;evolution&#x20;during&#x20;dissimilar&#x20;channel&#x20;angular&#x20;pressing&#x20;(DCAP).&#x20;Both&#x20;finite&#x20;element&#x20;analyses&#x20;and&#x20;full&#x20;constraint&#x20;Taylor&#x20;analyses&#x20;based&#x20;on&#x20;the&#x20;rate&#x20;sensitive&#x20;formulation&#x20;were&#x20;performed&#x20;to&#x20;analyze&#x20;the&#x20;deformation&#x20;history&#x20;and&#x20;corresponding&#x20;texture&#x20;evolution&#x20;during&#x20;DCAP.&#x20;Rotation&#x20;behaviors&#x20;of&#x20;individual&#x20;orientations&#x20;due&#x20;to&#x20;DCAP&#x20;were&#x20;studied&#x20;both&#x20;to&#x20;predict&#x20;the&#x20;stable&#x20;orientations&#x20;under&#x20;DCAP&#x20;and&#x20;to&#x20;provide&#x20;a&#x20;detailed&#x20;explanation&#x20;for&#x20;the&#x20;experimental&#x20;results.&#x20;It&#x20;was&#x20;observed&#x20;that&#x20;texture&#x20;evolutions&#x20;in&#x20;the&#x20;specimens&#x20;processed&#x20;by&#x20;DCAP&#x20;are&#x20;strongly&#x20;dependent&#x20;on&#x20;both&#x20;the&#x20;deformation&#x20;history&#x20;and&#x20;the&#x20;initial&#x20;texture.&#x20;(C)&#x20;2004&#x20;Acta&#x20;Materialia&#x20;Inc.&#x20;Published&#x20;by&#x20;Elsevier&#x20;Ltd.&#x20;All&#x20;rights&#x20;reserved.</dcvalue>
