<dcvalue element="description" qualifier="abstract">The&#x20;light&#x20;rare&#x20;earths,&#x20;particularly&#x20;cerium&#x20;compounds,&#x20;are&#x20;becoming&#x20;more&#x20;and&#x20;more&#x20;important&#x20;recently.&#x20;The&#x20;preparation&#x20;method&#x20;of&#x20;Ce(OH)4&#x20;·&#x20;xH2O&#x20;through&#x20;transformation&#x20;between&#x20;cerium&#x20;compounds&#x20;was&#x20;investigated.&#x20;The&#x20;process&#x20;is&#x20;compared&#x20;with&#x20;the&#x20;direct&#x20;routine&#x20;by&#x20;reacting&#x20;Ce(III)&#x20;with&#x20;sodium&#x20;hydroxide&#x20;and&#x20;hydrogen&#x20;peroxide&#x20;as&#x20;a&#x20;oxidant.&#x20;The&#x20;results&#x20;show&#x20;that&#x20;transformation&#x20;process&#x20;is&#x20;a&#x20;potential&#x20;preparation&#x20;technique&#x20;to&#x20;produce&#x20;Ce(OH)4&#x20;·&#x20;xH2O&#x20;with&#x20;better&#x20;physical&#x20;properties.&#x20;？&#x20;2000&#x20;Taylor&#x20;&amp;amp;&#x20;Francis&#x20;Group,&#x20;LLC.</dcvalue>
