<dcvalue element="description" qualifier="abstract">Thermodynamic&#x20;properties&#x20;and&#x20;phase&#x20;diagrams&#x20;of&#x20;the&#x20;Fe-C-P&#x20;system&#x20;have&#x20;been&#x20;assessed&#x20;based&#x20;on&#x20;thermodynamic&#x20;models.&#x20;The&#x20;regular&#x20;solution&#x20;type&#x20;model&#x20;has&#x20;been&#x20;employed&#x20;for&#x20;the&#x20;liquid&#x20;phase&#x20;and&#x20;the&#x20;two-sublattice&#x20;model&#x20;for&#x20;the&#x20;solid&#x20;phases&#x20;in&#x20;the&#x20;Fe-C-P&#x20;system.&#x20;The&#x20;thermodynamic&#x20;model&#x20;parameters&#x20;for&#x20;the&#x20;individual&#x20;phases&#x20;of&#x20;this&#x20;system&#x20;have&#x20;been&#x20;evaluated&#x20;from&#x20;relevant&#x20;experimental&#x20;information&#x20;available&#x20;in&#x20;the&#x20;literature,&#x20;using&#x20;a&#x20;computerized&#x20;optimization&#x20;technique.&#x20;Several&#x20;isothermal&#x20;and&#x20;vertical&#x20;sections&#x20;as&#x20;well&#x20;as&#x20;a&#x20;liquidus&#x20;surface&#x20;projection&#x20;are&#x20;calculated&#x20;using&#x20;the&#x20;evaluated&#x20;parameters,&#x20;showing&#x20;reasonable&#x20;agreement&#x20;with&#x20;reported&#x20;data&#x20;from&#x20;various&#x20;sources.&#x20;In&#x20;comparison&#x20;with&#x20;a&#x20;previous&#x20;assessment&#x20;known&#x20;from&#x20;the&#x20;literature,&#x20;the&#x20;present&#x20;one&#x20;provides&#x20;a&#x20;better&#x20;description&#x20;for&#x20;the&#x20;thermodynamic&#x20;behavior&#x20;of&#x20;the&#x20;liquid&#x20;phase.</dcvalue>
