<dcvalue element="description" qualifier="abstract">A&#x20;modified,&#x20;laboratory-scale,&#x20;oxic&#x2F;anoxic&#x20;process&#x20;with&#x20;zeolite&#x20;circulation&#x20;achieved&#x20;a&#x20;high&#x20;efficiency&#x20;(97%)&#x20;of&#x20;nitrogen&#x20;removal&#x20;from&#x20;synthetic&#x20;wastewater.&#x20;This&#x20;process&#x20;lowered&#x20;the&#x20;turbidity&#x20;and&#x20;the&#x20;suspended&#x20;solid&#x20;concentration&#x20;in&#x20;the&#x20;effluent.&#x20;The&#x20;zeolite&#x20;was&#x20;effective&#x20;as&#x20;a&#x20;biomedium&#x20;due&#x20;to&#x20;the&#x20;formation&#x20;of&#x20;biofilm&#x20;on&#x20;the&#x20;surface&#x20;of&#x20;zeolite&#x20;and&#x20;the&#x20;continuous&#x20;biological&#x20;regeneration.</dcvalue>
