<dcvalue element="description" qualifier="abstract">We&#x20;have&#x20;investigated&#x20;electro-optic&#x20;properties&#x20;of&#x20;nonlinear&#x20;optical&#x20;polymer&#x20;with&#x20;self-crosslinkable&#x20;groups&#x20;in&#x20;the&#x20;side&#x20;chain,&#x20;which&#x20;we&#x20;synthesized&#x20;previously.&#x20;The&#x20;system&#x20;includes&#x20;crosslinkable&#x20;epoxy-functionalized&#x20;copolymer&#x20;with&#x20;T-g&#x20;around&#x20;120&#x20;degrees&#x20;C,&#x20;second&#x20;harmonic&#x20;coefficient&#x20;as&#x20;high&#x20;as&#x20;45.5&#x20;pm&#x2F;V&#x20;at&#x20;632&#x20;mm,&#x20;and&#x20;with&#x20;good&#x20;temporal&#x20;stability&#x20;of&#x20;the&#x20;poling-induced&#x20;chromophore&#x20;orientation&#x20;obtained&#x20;by&#x20;self-crosslinking&#x20;reactions&#x20;in&#x20;the&#x20;polymer&#x20;matrix&#x20;during&#x20;the&#x20;poling&#x20;process.&#x20;Successful&#x20;strategies&#x20;for&#x20;simultaneous&#x20;poling&#x20;and&#x20;self-crosslinking&#x20;during&#x20;the&#x20;poling&#x20;without&#x20;addition&#x20;of&#x20;crosslinking&#x20;agents&#x20;are&#x20;presented.&#x20;Significant&#x20;improvement&#x20;in&#x20;the&#x20;temporal&#x20;stability&#x20;of&#x20;chromophore&#x20;orientation&#x20;was&#x20;accomplished&#x20;up&#x20;to&#x20;90%,&#x20;(C)&#x20;1999&#x20;Elsevier&#x20;Science&#x20;Ltd.&#x20;All&#x20;rights&#x20;reserved.</dcvalue>
