<dcvalue element="description" qualifier="abstract">A&#x20;benzoxazole-based&#x20;NLO&#x20;chromophore&#x20;with&#x20;perfluorobutyl&#x20;side&#x20;chain&#x20;was&#x20;newly&#x20;synthesized.&#x20;The&#x20;poling&#x20;behavior&#x20;of&#x20;an&#x20;NLO&#x20;polyester&#x20;therefrom&#x20;was&#x20;investigated&#x20;by&#x20;a&#x20;second&#x20;harmonic&#x20;generation&#x20;and&#x20;a&#x20;simple&#x20;reflection&#x20;measurement.&#x20;The&#x20;electro-optic&#x20;coefficients&#x20;of&#x20;the&#x20;polyester&#x20;was&#x20;measured&#x20;in&#x20;the&#x20;range&#x20;of&#x20;8&#x20;similar&#x20;to&#x20;10&#x20;pm&#x2F;V&#x20;at&#x20;1.3&#x20;mu&#x20;m.</dcvalue>
