<dcvalue element="description" qualifier="abstract">The&#x20;tribological&#x20;behavior&#x20;of&#x20;MoS2-bonded-films&#x20;was&#x20;evaluated&#x20;by&#x20;the&#x20;international&#x20;standard&#x20;testing&#x20;methods,&#x20;such&#x20;as&#x20;ASTM&#x20;D&#x20;2625&#x20;and&#x20;ASTM&#x20;D&#x20;2714.&#x20;Test&#x20;results&#x20;showed&#x20;that&#x20;friction&#x20;and&#x20;wear&#x20;performance&#x20;differed&#x20;significantly&#x20;with&#x20;the&#x20;contact&#x20;configuration&#x20;of&#x20;tribe-tester,&#x20;In&#x20;order&#x20;to&#x20;investigate&#x20;the&#x20;effect&#x20;of&#x20;the&#x20;test&#x20;contact&#x20;configurations&#x20;on&#x20;wear&#x20;life,&#x20;surface&#x20;temperatures&#x20;were&#x20;measured&#x20;and&#x20;evaluated&#x20;analytically&#x20;in&#x20;terms&#x20;of&#x20;a&#x20;frictional&#x20;heating&#x20;analysis&#x20;according&#x20;to&#x20;the&#x20;contact&#x20;geometry&#x20;of&#x20;two&#x20;test&#x20;standard&#x20;methods.&#x20;Ring-on-block&#x20;tests&#x20;in&#x20;modified&#x20;test&#x20;conditions&#x20;of&#x20;ASTM&#x20;D&#x20;2625&#x20;were&#x20;also&#x20;performed.&#x20;The&#x20;test&#x20;results&#x20;showed&#x20;that&#x20;the&#x20;wear&#x20;life&#x20;of&#x20;MoS2-bonded-films&#x20;was&#x20;affected&#x20;significantly&#x20;not&#x20;only&#x20;by&#x20;the&#x20;frictional&#x20;heating&#x20;and&#x20;contact&#x20;pressure,&#x20;but&#x20;also&#x20;by&#x20;the&#x20;contact&#x20;conformity&#x20;of&#x20;the&#x20;test&#x20;specimens.&#x20;(C)&#x20;1998&#x20;Elsevier&#x20;Science&#x20;S.A.</dcvalue>
