<dcvalue element="description" qualifier="abstract">Noncritically&#x20;phase-matched&#x20;second&#x20;harmonic&#x20;generation&#x20;(SHG)&#x20;of&#x20;532-nm&#x20;radition&#x20;from&#x20;1064-nm&#x20;in&#x20;MgO-doped&#x20;LiNbO3&#x20;has&#x20;been&#x20;investigated&#x20;by&#x20;using&#x20;Q-switched&#x20;Nd:YAG&#x20;laser.&#x20;SHG&#x20;conversion&#x20;efficiencies&#x20;were&#x20;typically&#x20;achieved&#x20;as&#x20;high&#x20;as&#x20;50%&#x20;with&#x20;2&#x20;mol%&#x20;MgO-doped&#x20;LiNbO3&#x20;at&#x20;the&#x20;warm&#x20;phase-matching&#x20;temperature.&#x20;No&#x20;photorefractive&#x20;damage&#x20;were&#x20;found&#x20;fur&#x20;more&#x20;than&#x20;a-hour&#x20;operation&#x20;of&#x20;SHG&#x20;under&#x20;fundamental&#x20;power&#x20;density&#x20;of&#x20;32&#x20;MW&#x2F;cm(2).&#x20;The&#x20;thermo-birefringence&#x20;coefficient&#x20;and&#x20;the&#x20;electro&#x20;birefringence&#x20;coefficient&#x20;of&#x20;SHG&#x20;were&#x20;calculated&#x20;from&#x20;the&#x20;temperature&#x20;phase-matching&#x20;profile&#x20;with&#x20;the&#x20;electric&#x20;field.</dcvalue>
