<dcvalue element="description" qualifier="abstract">We&#x20;synthesized&#x20;alpha-methylstyrene&#x20;copolymers&#x20;containing&#x20;the&#x20;organic&#x20;salt&#x20;chromophore&#x20;and&#x20;investigated&#x20;their&#x20;second-order&#x20;nonlinear&#x20;optical&#x20;properties&#x20;in&#x20;terms&#x20;of&#x20;the&#x20;linear&#x20;electrooptic&#x20;coefficient,&#x20;r(33).&#x20;The&#x20;measured&#x20;electrooptic&#x20;coefficients&#x20;of&#x20;poly&#x20;[1-[(N-ethylenepiperazyl)-stilbazolium&#x20;tetraphenyl&#x20;borate]-N-[(1,1-dimethyl-m-isopropenyl)&#x20;benzyl]]carbamate-co-methylmethacrylate&#x20;methylmethacrylate&#x20;(POLYMER&#x20;I&#x20;&amp;&#x20;II),&#x20;and&#x20;poly&#x20;[1-[(N-ethylenepiperazyl)-stilbazolium&#x20;tetraphenyl&#x20;borate]-N-[(1,1-dimethyl-m-isopropenyl)benzyl]]carbamate-co-N-vinylcarbazole&#x20;(POLYMER&#x20;III)&#x20;were&#x20;determined&#x20;around&#x20;30-40&#x20;pm&#x2F;V&#x20;at&#x20;632&#x20;nm&#x20;wavelength.&#x20;The&#x20;observed&#x20;temporal&#x20;stabilities&#x20;of&#x20;linear&#x20;electro-optic&#x20;coefficients&#x20;of&#x20;these&#x20;copolymers&#x20;were&#x20;observed&#x20;much&#x20;better&#x20;than&#x20;that&#x20;of&#x20;guest-host&#x20;system&#x20;or&#x20;other&#x20;NLO&#x20;side&#x20;chain&#x20;polymers&#x20;due&#x20;to&#x20;their&#x20;outstanding&#x20;physical&#x20;properties.</dcvalue>
