<dcvalue element="description" qualifier="abstract">The&#x20;distribution&#x20;of&#x20;stress&#x20;during&#x20;hot&#x20;pressing&#x20;of&#x20;a&#x20;cast&#x20;(Fe,Cu)-Nd-B&#x20;magnet&#x20;was&#x20;simulated&#x20;by&#x20;SPID.&#x20;The&#x20;calculated&#x20;stress&#x20;components&#x20;were&#x20;compression&#x20;stress&#x20;(sigma(z))&#x20;and&#x20;shear&#x20;stress&#x20;(tau(r,z)).&#x20;The&#x20;stress&#x20;component&#x20;causing&#x20;the&#x20;magnetic&#x20;alignment&#x20;during&#x20;hot&#x20;pressing&#x20;was&#x20;sigma(z).&#x20;Tau(rz)&#x20;virtually&#x20;played&#x20;no&#x20;role&#x20;in&#x20;the&#x20;magnetic&#x20;alignment.&#x20;Generally,&#x20;sigma(z)&#x20;was&#x20;higher&#x20;at&#x20;the&#x20;center&#x20;of&#x20;a&#x20;specimen&#x20;and&#x20;decreased&#x20;gradually&#x20;along&#x20;the&#x20;radial&#x20;direction&#x20;to&#x20;the&#x20;periphery&#x20;of&#x20;a&#x20;specimen&#x20;during&#x20;hot&#x20;pressing,&#x20;while&#x20;tau(rz)&#x20;was&#x20;negligible&#x20;and&#x20;uniformly&#x20;distributed&#x20;throughout&#x20;the&#x20;specimen.&#x20;Random&#x20;orientation&#x20;and&#x20;grain&#x20;growth&#x20;of&#x20;phi&#x20;were&#x20;evident&#x20;at&#x20;the&#x20;outer&#x20;part&#x20;of&#x20;a&#x20;specimen&#x20;where&#x20;sigma(z)&#x20;is&#x20;very&#x20;weak.</dcvalue>
