<dcvalue element="description" qualifier="abstract">Isothermal&#x20;and&#x20;nonisothermal&#x20;crystallization&#x20;kinetics&#x20;of&#x20;poly(phenylene&#x20;sulfide)&#x20;(PPS)&#x20;including&#x20;a&#x20;thermotropic&#x20;liquid&#x20;crystalline&#x20;polyesteramide&#x20;(LCP)&#x20;have&#x20;been&#x20;investigated&#x20;by&#x20;means&#x20;of&#x20;Avrami&#x20;and&#x20;Ozawa&#x20;expressions.&#x20;As&#x20;the&#x20;LCP&#x20;content&#x20;is&#x20;increased,&#x20;the&#x20;supercooling&#x20;required&#x20;for&#x20;PPS&#x20;crystallization,&#x20;both&#x20;half&#x20;time&#x20;for&#x20;crystallization&#x20;and&#x20;size&#x20;of&#x20;spherulites&#x20;decrease.&#x20;Further.&#x20;the&#x20;PPS&#x20;containing&#x20;LCP&#x20;exhibits&#x20;a&#x20;higher&#x20;nucleation&#x20;density&#x20;than&#x20;pure&#x20;PPS&#x20;when&#x20;three&#x20;dimensional&#x20;growth&#x20;and&#x20;constant&#x20;radial&#x20;growth&#x20;rate&#x20;of&#x20;spherulites&#x20;are&#x20;assumed.&#x20;In&#x20;the&#x20;nonisothermal&#x20;crystallization&#x20;process,&#x20;PPS,LCP&#x20;blend&#x20;systems&#x20;exhibit&#x20;a&#x20;notable&#x20;reduction&#x20;in&#x20;Avrami&#x20;exponent.&#x20;In&#x20;the&#x20;isothermal&#x20;process,&#x20;the&#x20;radius&#x20;of&#x20;spherulite&#x20;linearly&#x20;increases&#x20;with&#x20;time.</dcvalue>
