<dcvalue element="description" qualifier="abstract">Semiconducting&#x20;pillar&#x20;structures&#x20;have&#x20;emerged&#x20;as&#x20;a&#x20;versatile&#x20;platform&#x20;owing&#x20;to&#x20;their&#x20;excellent&#x20;optical&#x20;performances&#x20;and&#x20;multiple&#x20;functionalities,&#x20;which&#x20;enable&#x20;their&#x20;seamless&#x20;integrations&#x20;into&#x20;hybrid&#x20;nanodevices.&#x20;The&#x20;pillar&#x20;cavities&#x20;can&#x20;be&#x20;coupled&#x20;to&#x20;a&#x20;wide&#x20;variety&#x20;of&#x20;spin,&#x20;charge,&#x20;acoustic,&#x20;excitonic,&#x20;polaritonic,&#x20;electromagnetic,&#x20;or&#x20;mechanical&#x20;degrees&#x20;of&#x20;freedom&#x20;as&#x20;a&#x20;universal&#x20;building&#x20;block&#x20;for&#x20;hybrid&#x20;resonator&#x20;networks.&#x20;Because&#x20;of&#x20;the&#x20;high&#x20;degree&#x20;of&#x20;integration&#x20;and&#x20;reconfiguration&#x20;capabilities,&#x20;the&#x20;strain&#x20;-induced&#x20;coupling&#x20;may&#x20;contribute&#x20;to&#x20;the&#x20;realization&#x20;of&#x20;scalable&#x20;photonic&#x20;networks.&#x20;Herein,&#x20;we&#x20;theoretically&#x20;demonstrate&#x20;control&#x20;of&#x20;the&#x20;mechanical&#x20;coupling&#x20;in&#x20;the&#x20;resonator&#x20;arrays&#x20;of&#x20;semiconductor&#x20;monolithic&#x20;pillars,&#x20;and&#x20;consider&#x20;the&#x20;practical&#x20;challenges&#x20;of&#x20;designing&#x20;high&#x20;-precision&#x20;and&#x20;large-scale&#x20;hybrid&#x20;devices&#x20;for&#x20;single&#x20;-photon&#x20;source&#x20;applications&#x20;and&#x20;advanced&#x20;photonic&#x20;networks.&#x20;The&#x20;novel&#x20;dynamic&#x20;features&#x20;of&#x20;nano-&#x2F;microscale&#x20;pillar&#x20;resonators&#x20;can&#x20;be&#x20;favorably&#x20;implemented&#x20;in&#x20;mechanical&#x20;functional&#x20;platforms&#x20;for&#x20;information&#x20;processing&#x20;and&#x20;storage.</dcvalue>
